Description

This clump-forming perennial produces many weeks of golden, daisy-like flowers, above aromatic, fine lacy foliage in summer. It is great in borders and works well as a cut flower. Although it nowadays has little culinary or commercial uses and only limited medicinal uses, it produces excellent yellow, buff and golden-orange dyes, used in the past for fabrics.

Sowing Advice

Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
